The Shape of Jazz to Come (Something Else) (2024)

Surrounded by Carl-Henri Morrisset, Thomas Bramerie and Elie Martin-Charrière, Pédron revisits Ornette Coleman’s seminal album, offering a completely new reading of the work thanks to original arrangements by Laurent.

Pedron / Rubalcaba (2023)

a duo album with legendary pianist Gonzalo Rubalcaba, which won a Victoire du Jazz award in 2023.

50/50 (2022)

A quartet album featuring an exceptional cast: Sullivan Fortner on piano, Larry Grenadier on double bass and Marcus Gilmore on drums.

Deep in a Dream (2007)

Courthaliac and Pédron had already collaborated in 2007, on the album Deep in a Dream, produced by Sébastien Vidal. In this opus, Courthaliac arranged five tracks for Pierrick alongside prestigious musicians Mulgrew Miller, Thomas Bramerie and Lewis Nash.

 Other Arrangement Projects in 2023

Laurent Courthaliac continues to assert his role as arranger with two further albums in distinct styles, again alongside director Daniel Yvinec, demonstrating the diversity of his talent:

Jobim’s World by Yvonnick Prene

A duo with pianist Geoffrey Keezer, this project pays tribute to the music of Antonio Carlos Jobim. Courthaliac’s arrangements highlight the melodic depth of his compositions, while allowing the musicians to explore the nuances of Jobim’s repertoire.
